Seniors Kaylan Hook and Stevie Roth shot a 78 and 96 respectively to advance to Girls Golf Regionals September 16.
The Bulldogs didn’t have enough players to compete as a team, so they played as individuals. Hook and Roth were the only players to qualify from the Bulldog golf team. Only three area players advanced: Hook, Roth, and Elizabeth Mayberry from Providence High School.
“It was one of my better scores,” Hook said. “But not my best.”
The strong points of Hook’s play on Saturday was putting.
“My chipping was lacking which put me in some tough positions, but my putting helped me make up for some of that,” Hook said.
Roth’s 96 was not up to her standards.
“I played really bad and I ended up having to go into a play off for the third spot in Sectionals, but I did make it to Regionals,” Roth said.
Regionals begins at 8:30 a.m at Country Oaks in Washington, Indiana Saturday September 23.
