The bowling team complete their first year at NAHS.

Freshman Aaron Schott says he has been bowling since he was five or six years old, but this is his first year bowling for the Bulldogs.

“I’ve been bowling for a couple of years, but this is my first year on a league,” Schott said.

He says he joined the bowling team because he wanted to have the opportunity to meet new people.

“I thought it would be fun, meeting new people,” Schott said.

Schott says the hardest thing about bowling is constantly changing his strategy.

“Changing your strategy, trying to change the oils,” Schott said.

Shott’s main personal goal as a bowler is to try to beat his record.

As far as Schott’s concerned, he doesn’t consider bowling to be an underappreciated sport.

“I would say no, because they do have championships, and stuff now, and with the league, and everything that started to come out of school,” Schott said.

In order to expose the sport a little bit more, Schott thinks he should try to get his friends into the sport.

“I would try to get all of my friends and tell them about it, try to get some new people, tell them to tell their friends, and stuff like that,” Schott said.

He says Blackiston Mill is his favorite bowling alley.

“I’ve been bowling there, ever since I first started bowling and that’s where my family’s been going,” Schott said.

When he goes to college he plans to continue to bowl.

“I always love to bowl and if I can, I’m going to continue with it,” Schott said.

Schott’s advice has some advice for incoming freshmen:

“I would always say work hard, try your best, and if you can, just keep setting goals for yourself,” Schott said.
