Blake’s Bops: Gucci, Migos And Yachty Come Together On “Solitaire”

The ATL Rappers Give Us Some Heat

Coming off of what was probably the most successful year of Gucci Mane’s career, the 38-year-old joins forces with fellow Atlanta rappers Migos and Lil Yachty on “Solitaire.”

With the collab album Glacier Boyz rumored to be in the making between the three, this is the first look we have at them all featured on the same track together. The track wasn’t really promoted, but rather just received a shoutout from Gucci on Instagram a little while before the song was dropped.

Gucci, coming off his banger solo album El Gato: The Human Glacier (December 2017), handles this song with ease. The former convict has been on the road to the top since he was released from prison in 2016, and has took the game by storm.

Just like Gucci Mane, Migos has also had their huge share of success. In the past year, Migos has dropped both Culture and Culture 2, which have allowed them to excel to the top of today’s best rappers.

And then there’s Yachty. With Lil Boat 2 set to be dropped this month, the mumble style rapper will be looking to make another mark on the culture.

Gucci spits on the hook “I was just sitting’ in a cell playing’ solitaire/Now they see me everywhere/Bracelet full of solitaries.” The whole song really focuses on each of the artists’ high dollar lifestyles, while comparing it to playing Solitaire behind bars.

Offset is missing from this track, which is interesting considering Takeoff is usually the Migo left out of most productions. Takeoff is, in my opinion, the better Migos lyrically. He spits a nice verse, and Quavo follows up with a nice compliment to the intro of the track.

Gucci is who this whole single is centered around. Just like the mainstream hit “I Get The Bag” from Gucci’s album Mr. Davis (2017), the “Southern Rap King” comes back with another fire verse along side Migos. “All my stones single, man/ They ain’t with the minglin’ ” shows really the jewelry value Gucci claims he has.

Gucci has became one of my favorite rappers. His trap style and rhyming scheme make him one of the most deadliest voices in the game. I’m excited to hear more of his work in the coming year.

Yachty brings what he normally brings to the table, but this is no doubt a Gucci Mane heat track. Lil Boat doesn’t even really belong in this song, I mean he spits three or four lines, but it’s elementary school stuff. Don’t get me wrong, his delivery is on point, just nothing out of the blue lyrically.

This single will definitely make it to the “Blake’s Bops” playlist.

No date has been set for the collab album between the three, but Gucci is currently working on another solo album Evil Genius. If the release of this track is a hint, then the joint operation shouldn’t be too far down the road.

Notable Lyrics

“4 mill for the crib, 1.5 just to keep me chill

Who my neighbor is? Jack and Jill

Still trap up the hill

Fiji water, talkin’ Aquafina, glass, crystal clear

Ice there, ice here, I just iced the atmosphere”

-Takeoff

“My whole clique frostbit

Lookin’ at the robbers like ‘Y’all ain’t finny take ****’

Glacier Boy, amazin’ ****

Your jeweler ain’t up on this

Crazy diamond bracelet, I’m jealous of my own wrist”
