Tailgating @ Providence

Nothing can top a rival game when it comes to high school sports. As the days to the Providence football game diminished the excitement to tailgate skyrocketed.

“I was looking forward to the paint slide because there was so much hype about it,” sophomore Corbyn Merten said. “I love getting painted because I wanted to support the Dogs”

Senior Ella Harrison was one of the main organizers of the tailgate. She and senior Emma Ivey went to any store they could find and bought everything that was red.

“We just wanted everybody, especially the seniors, to have a fun time together,” Harrison said. “In my opinion this was the best tailgate we’ve had because we came together as a school to get excited about playing and beating providence.”

This year’s tailgate must’ve been successful because it empowered the student section to cheer the team on to a 35-12 win over the Pioneers in the season opener. They are ready to cheer the Dogs on once again on August 24 as they take on Castle.
