*Names and odds supplied by The Bleacher Report
There are plenty of ways fans pick the winning horse. Some use the odds to make their pick, some pick the coolest name and some pick by the color of the silks a jockey will wear.
Here are two picks from two different insights:
By the odds (according to Bret Walts):
Orb (7-2):
This colt has been given the greatest odds to win the 2013 Derby by early projections and he may have fate on his side too. The jockey that will sit upon Orb, Joel Rosario, has already won the Dubai World Cup this year on former Derby winner Animal Kingdom. If you are going with the odds, Orb is the horse for you.
By the name (according to Kayln Reyer) :
Falling Sky (50-1)
I would pick Falling Sky as my horse. The name immediately jumped out to me because Adele has a song called “Falling Sky”. There is also a TV show called Falling Skys and a movie called Falling Sky. As someone who doesn’t know much about the Derby, picking a cool name is the first thing I think of.
