The Secondary Art Show was held at the Carnegie Center For Art And History and was open to the public at no charge. New Albany Floyd County Schools grades 5 through 12 participated by entering student artwork to be judged. There areten categories that must meet the criteria of the judges.

- What does your piece represent?
My piece represents the different perspective of the figure.
- What was your inspiration?
I love portrait photography and that inspired me to do this piece.
- Is there a certain technique you use when working on piece?
I used projection and slides.
- Is there a certain thing that helps you focus?
Music helps me focus.
- How do you feel about having your artwork shown in the Secondary Art Show?
I think it’s an honor that my work is in the Secondary Art Show.

- What does your piece represent?
I think it’s kind of mysterious; it’s like showing unseen things.
- What was your inspiration?
I don’t really have much inspiration with my pictures, its more imagination and making my own inspiration.
- Is there a certain technique you use when working on piece?
I use my own technique.
- Is there a certain thing that helps you focus?
Not exactly, I just love making cool, different pictures.
- How do you feel about having your artwork shown in the Secondary Art Show?
I feel that my pictures in the Secondary Art Show will look good on my future jobs and accomplishments.
Hunter Cooper, Junior
- What does your piece represent?
My piece represents isolation.
- What was your inspiration?
Abstract painters were my inspiration.
- Is there a certain technique you use when working on piece?
I used a palette knife to scrape the paint across the canvas. Then I scratched a top layer to underlying abstract forms.
- Is there a certain thing that helps you focus?
Sometimes I need music to focus on a piece, but sometimes quite is the best way to unleash my thoughts.
- How do you feel about having your artwork shown in the Secondary Art Show?
I feel honored to have my work shown to a large audience of people.
