Tip of the week: Push yourself outside of your comfort zone
Imagine this, in your first three years of high school you have yet to get involved in any extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or any school social events. Although it is now your fourth and final year of high school, do not let that intimidate you or prevent you from stepping outside of your comfort zone.
With graduation approaching, why not make the most of the time you still have left? Do not be afraid to get involved. Making new friends senior year may sound like a bad idea considering college is coming, but that is not necessarily the case. By making connections with people your age who are going through the same average senior struggles and experiences, it would be nice to have someone who can relate to you.
Try even the simple things like signing up for volunteer around your community, or attending the Friday night football games. If sporting events are not really your type of fun or you feel uncomfortable attending them, give one another try. Change comes with time, so you never know, you might just like those football games without realizing it.
If the thought of large crowds makes you cringe, a college fair might not be something you would like to attend, but tip of the week being to step outside of your comfort zone, can reflect this decision.
Push yourself outside of your comfort zone. Just do it. Don’t leave high school with the regret of not getting involved in new things. You will never know if you like something unless you try it. With college right around the corner, knowing yourself and what you like is a necessity, and there is no better way to find out other than expanding your horizons. Make senior year count.
