Planning Ahead
Your weekly guide for those who have limited expenses, and who are living paycheck to paycheck, but still want to be ballin.
To be “ballin” means to be wealthy, affluent, or to have nice things. You may wonder how you would do this on a low budget, but it’s relatively pretty easy as long as you have the determination and mindset of “ballin”.
One of the first things you need to make sure you do is plan ahead. Keep watch of your hours at work and when it’s almost payday, start adding up to have an idea of what your paycheck would be. This is probably one of the most important steps, because if you don’t know how much you make, then how will you know how much you can spend?
A good way to plan ahead (not just expenses) would be to have a calendar or planner always handy. You’ll write down your payday, whether it be weekly, or bi- weekly, and also any important events you know you’ll need money for, like basketball games or dinner with your BFF’s. Depending on the individual, you may also need to include your phone bill, and other financial responsibilities you might have on your calendar.
If you’re not the planner type, or just simply don’t have the time to keep track of everything, I would recommend at least putting reminders in your phone for important days you know you’re going to be spending money. You’ll also need to keep track of all expenses, because before you know it you’ll not only be empty pocketed but also empty handed. And you can’t be “ballin” if you’re empty handed, right?
