Best Drops of the Week // by Bryce Walts

This week’s sneaker releases are lead by the ever-popular Yeezy 350 Boost “Cream White” and the Air Jordan 7 “Pantone”. Both are first time releases, so they should both sell out within minutes. Jordan is also releasing a Russell Westbrook PE, Nike is releasing another colorway of the new VaporMax, and Supreme is releasing probably one of the most highly anticipated collaborations, with a rendition of Nike’s “Air More Uptempo”. What will you be picking up during this week of great drops?

04.29.17 AIR JORDAN 7 “PANTONE” $190

Bryce Pantone Jordan

As part of the unveiling of a collection for this summer honoring Michael Jordan’s days at North Carolina, today Jordan Brand offers a full release of the Air Jordan 7 in University Blue. Originally part of the “Pantone” collection of Air Jordan Retro samples showcased at the 2010 World Basketball Festival, the bold look for the Air Jordan 7 features a tonal University Blue upper built in synthetic nubuck with a solid white sole unit and matching white branding accents up top. The coveted colorway that was only ever been produced as a sample will be releasing for the first time ever in 2017. Expect these to sell out quickly as a first time release, and re-sell value should be very high. These are available via Jordan at select retailers and Nike on April 29.

04.29.17 AIR JORDAN XXXI “WHY NOT?” $200

Bryce Jordan why Not

It only took Jordan Brand nearly the full NBA season to release a pair of Air Jordan XXX1s in honor of the Triple Double king Russell Westbrook. However, there’s a twist; this release reflects the hybrid model that Russell’s been wearing throughout his insanely productive season as it features an Air Jordan XXX1 upper with the cushioning of the Air Jordan XXX. This “Why Not?” PE blends a classic OKC colorway with elephant print on the heel and his personal logos on the tongue and the outsole of the shoes. With Russell’s iconic season, this is a fitting shoe to showcase his explosiveness. These are being released via Nike on April 29.

04.29.17 ADIDAS YEEZY 350 BOOST V2 “CREAM WHITE” $220

Bryce Yeezy White

Kanye West helped catapult the adidas Ultra Boost into the must-have category when he rocked the infamous Triple White during a tour performance, so it’s only right that his Yeezy series be blessed with a similar all-white everything colorway just in time to heat up the summer months ahead. It also looks like the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cream White will be more readily available than past installments given the recent findings of the adidas Confirmed App Store Locations. Still, given the difficulty to buy Yeezy boosts off retail in the past, expect these to sell out quickly, on Adidas.com and select retailers.

04.27.17 NIKE AIR VAPORMAX “ASPHALT/DARK GREY” $190

Bryce Nike VaporMax

The Nike VaporMax is the latest and greatest from Nike Running as the model refreshes the three decades of visible air with a brand new outsole unit sure to turn heads. While the VaporMax debuted and then sold out in all three colorways over its first release weekend, there’s still plenty of upcoming options headed your way for this Spring 2017 season like the coming Nike Air VaporMax Dark Grey. The Nike VaporMax Dark Grey is perfect for those of you that thought the Pure Platinum debut was just a little bit on the lighter side of the color spectrum, as the flyknit gets a darker option full of grayscale shades with a contrasting Swoosh. The unique full-length visible air outsole unit gets a touch of icy translucence for an added pop. With all the other VaporMax releases selling out, this one has the potential to. The Nike Air VaporMax Asphalt is set to drop at Nike stores and online on April 27.

04.27.17 SUPREME X NIKE AIR MORE UPTEMPO “SUPTEMPO” $180

Bryce Supreme Uptempo

Arguably one of the most anticipated collabs of the year, the Supreme x Nike Air More Uptempo Collection consists of three different colorways of the Nike Air More Uptempo that get a makeover courtesy of streetwear powerhouse Supreme. The Supreme x Nike Air More Uptempo Collection will include pairs that come in Triple Black, Metallic Gold and Red/White. The standout feature on all three pairs is the branding. Instead of the usual “AIR” branding on the paneling, these versions of the Air More Uptempo come with “SUPREME” branding wrapped all over the shoe. Adding to the collaborative feel of the shoe is the co-branded insoles and reflective accents throughout the upper around the letters. These classic sneakers will launch online Thursday from supremenewyork.com in the U.S. and Europe.
