Yesterday, the Bulldogs travelled to Pekin for varsity tennis. As warmups subsided and games began, the Bulldogs battered aces and rallies like it was nothing.
“I felt really good at net during the second set,” junior Jared Wright said. “My serves stayed consistent. I just had to keep playing how [Rich and I] started.”
Wright and senior Alex Rich won their sets 6-0 and 6-3. The other doubles team, junior Ben Stock and sophomore Cody Medley, won 6-0 and 6-2. In singles, junior Nolan Keeler won 6-0 both sets and senior Logan Conrad won 6-0 and 6-1.
“I felt pretty solid [yesterday] on my serves and net game,” Medley said. “I’m ready to play Jeff in the tournament.”
August 25 and 26 the Bulldogs will host the New Albany Invitational and compete against Providence, Silver Creek, Charlestown, Scottsburg, Lanesville, Austin, and Eastern Pekin. August 31 they will play Borden and face Providence on September 1.
