The girls soccer team was defeated by Floyd Central 3-0 September 14.
The Bulldogs knew going into the game that the Highlanders were a well-organized team with a deep bench. Tiring them out wasn’t going to work.
“Our game plan is to move around them, pass the ball around them, connect passes,” junior Logan Barber said “Obviously we need to be looking to shoot when possible.”
In the first half neither team scored. The Highlanders then came out in the second half aggressive. They scored their first of three goals at 30:49. Though the Bulldogs attempted, they were unable to come up with a goal.
The Bulldogs defense in the second half defined the game.
“We started out well by sending by possessing and sending our through balls, and then it just went downhill during the second half,” junior Maddie Renn said.
The loss to the Highlanders puts the Bulldogs record at 5-3-1. The Bulldogs racked up another Hoosier Hills Conference win 3-0 against Madison September 18. The team plays at Jeffersonville September 21; JV starts at 5:30 p.m., varsity at 7 p.m.
