The Onion
The Onion is a small Asian restaurant located in what used to be someone’s home. The restaurant has a comfortable almost home type feel to it. It’s a quiet family-run restaurant that offers Asian food at affordably low prices. It is much cheaper than China Bistro and Asian Buffet. One of the most popular dishes is their tuna sushi.
Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta, a student favorite, offers people the chance to truly experience Mexican cuisine. In a recent student poll PV beat out Tumbleweed, Qdoba, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and Mark’s Feedstore for best restuarant. It is said to have the best food and prices in town. It’s also a family-owned restaurant that gives it a unique feel. Puerto Vallarta is a good place for groups of people and families. Their queso is said to be the best there is. Some of their most popular dishes are the cheesy rice, the “Is” special and their quesadillas and burritos.
Tumbleweed
Tumbleweed is a “texican” style restaurant. NAHS students rated Tumbleweed as the second best restaurant, falling just short of Puerto Vallarta. However Tumbleweed does offer a different variety of food. Tumbleweed is also considered a steakhouse. Their entrees however range in price from $10-$15. If you’re looking for a little variety, either it be steak or shrimp then Tumbleweed is the perfect place for you to try.
TanThai
TanThai offers a variety of Thailand cuisine. The food is set apart from most other ethnic foods because of its freshness. The place is filled with giant mahgony tables with translucent curtains hanging from the ceiling offering a sense of privacy and seclusion. Evening entrees range in price from $7 to $10.50 with many choices from vegetable stir fry to salmon. You can also enjoy some soups and appetizers ranging in price from $3.99 to $9.50. Pork Satay is one of the many Thailand classics. It’s a spicy meat grilled and put on a stick along with a sweet/hot curry peanut sauce. Try TanThai for a taste of Thailand.
