Fry Fetish

Fries are the most common side at any fast food restaurant. These restaurants have been in competition for years making burgers, chicken and fries. Some of the most popular places are Arby’s, Wendy’s, Zaxby’s, McDonalds, and Chick-fil-a.While all of these restaurants have sauces to make their fries better, this rating is based only on the fries themselves.

5. Zaxby’s The worst fries out of them all was Zaxby’s fries. They make crinkle fries with their own seasoning. The seasoning is not very present when you eat the fry. Without any sauce the fry is pretty flavorless and plain. They are still good and Zax sauce makes them 10x better. They cook them in a blend of highly refined soybean oil.

4. Chick-fil-a At the number 4 spot is Chick-fil-a waffle fries. These fries are great when they are salted well, but the waffle fries being so large makes it taste more just like potato. Some of their fries have skin on them still from the potatoes which is a flavor I do not prefer. Though the chicken is fried in peanut oil, their fries are cooked in canola oil according to their website and then salted after they are done cooking.

3. Arby’s Arby’s takes the number 3 spot on the list. The fries are curly fries. They are very well flavored; they are also very crispy. The reason these are at number 3 is because although the flavor makes them unique, it also makes them difficult to taste good dipped with other sauces. There are few sauces that really taste good and go with the fry.

2. McDonald’s McDonald’s had the second best fries. McDonald’s and Wendy’s have been rival restaurants for decades. There are so many things you can compare and compete between the two, but when it comes to fries Mcdonald’s are barely below. They have the basic fries but are cooked to perfection. They are also cooked in a canola blend oil just like Chick-fil–a. The fries are thin and salted very well, they can also be dipped in any sauce and taste great.

Wendy’s The best fries are Wendy’s fries. In the last year Wendy’s came out with new fries that are crispier and better. Wendy’s fries are cooked in vegetable oil. They are just natural cut fries just like McDonald’s but sometimes simple is better. Their fries are crispier and a little bit more flavorful, yet they also are salted well and taste great with any sauce you dip them in, with no sauce they still are great to eat. 

All of these fries are unique in their own way; these rankings are all based on my opinion only. You can alway go get the fries themselves and make your own accurate ranking. This story cost me less than $15.
