The Cleveland Browns have had a miraculous season and look forward to winning their second playoff game in the past 20 years. The franchise of the Browns has been looked upon as a terrible organization in the NFL for many years now, but the “Cardiac Kids” look to change the culture in Cleveland. As the regular season comes to a close the Browns will end 11-6, this record is not compatible with the roster problems this team faces week in week out with a record breaking five different starting quarterbacks throughout the whole season.
After signing what was thought to be their new franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson in the off-season to a five-year $230 million deal, Watson got hurt in week 10 and was ruled out for the season. Prior to this, the Browns lost star running back Nick Chubb in week two for the rest of the year. This had many Browns fans in shock and disappointment, but this team never gave up and always played to the best of their abilities no matter what players were in. This created a mentality throughout the team and has led to a winning season.
The main source of attraction on this team is quarterback Joe Flacco. The 39-year-old was sitting on his couch one day back in November and watched Watson go down with an injury and thought that he could make a comeback to the NFL. His family thought that was a silly idea but after signing with the Browns he was later named the starter for the next week. This left Browns fans with no hope as this “old man” was coming in to lead this team to the playoffs. But to everyone’s surprise, Flacco was a star. Flacco has lost one game in the last five weeks and has proved everyone wrong.
The Cleveland Browns are now looking to win a playoff game this Saturday at 4:30, in Houston. Coach Kevin Stephanski is very optimistic about this team and has proven himself this year to be an elite coach. He is a front runner for NFL Coach of the Year and will continue to make a statement with this unorthodox team.
