The boys tennis team finished strong by making it to the second round of the regionals this year. The team lost the regional match 1-4 with Alex Stewart moving on to the individual semifinals which takes place this weekend.
For five seniors on the varsity team, this was their last match as high school tennis players.
“This team, coaches and all, made for the greatest high school experience one could ask for,” senior Kris Thomas said. “I had lot of laughs, some disappointments, and gained a lifetime of memories, all thanks to these guys. I couldn’t be happier that I got to experience it with a team like this.”
Senior Luke Garmon finished his high school career this season with 22 wins and only five losses.
“This year was more memorable than the other three years,” Garmon said. “Our chemistry was like no other, and the team became more of a brotherhood this year.”
The lowest the team placed in a tournament this year was third place and this year’s varsity seniors made it further this year than they have any other year in their high school careers.
“I think the group of guys that lead this team are closer to each other than any other sport at this school,” senior Alex Stewart said. “We are teammates, but best friends first.”
