Q: What are your goals for the season?
A: As a team our goal is to win the Hoosier Hills Conference and a Sectional Championship
Q: How does it feel to be named head coach?
A: I am just really excited to have the opportunity to coach these young ladies and a school like NAHS. Coaching is a passion that allows me to influence young ladies lives while they are playing a sport that molded me so much at their age.
Q: What skills do you have to offer the team as a coach?
A: Well I have some experience, this will be my 10th season coaching in southern Indiana. I have been a head coach previously and learned a great deal from that experience. I also think that I can offer a structured, disciplined program from top to bottom and build enthusiasm for the future.
Q: What’s your basketball background? Did you play?
A: I played at Midway College for four years. I coached at Floyd Central HS as an assistant for five years; I was the head coach at Scottsburg HS for two years and I have been on staff the previous two seasons here at NAHS.
Q: How does the team look so far?
A: We are working hard and getting better everyday. We still have some things to work on, but overall I am pleased with the attitudes and the desire for success that I see in the girls this season.
Q: Who are our senior leaders?
A: We are returning two seniors with Kamaren Cole and Tisha Langford. Plus, returning to NAHS this year for her senior year is Tionna Peters who played with us as a sophomore.
Q: How will they develop the team?
A: The team has developed just over the summer into a more focused group. They seem to understand the game more and play together, celebrating each others individual accomplishments as we achieve things as a team.
Q: What do you do in the off-season to prepare?
A: In the spring we get back in the weight room to get physically stronger, during the summer we played quite a bit against other high schools in southern Indiana at various shootouts and league play. Then in the fall we have committed ourselves to getting in better shape by working out on the track, in the gym, and in the weight room.
