Everyone knows the most outrageous day to get out of the house and shop is Black Friday. The deals are extreme and the crowds outlandish. Most malls in the area open at midnight on Thanksgiving and shockingly enough, there are always massive mobs of shoppers waiting anxiously by the doors. Freestanding stores tend to open early the next morning, usually around three or four a.m.
“I saw crazy people in their pajamas,” freshman Lindsey Edwards said.
A majority of malls and stores offer deals that come only on Black Friday. Due to this one-day shopping extravaganza, people go crazy. Local news stations are always in the midst of the madness getting footage of all the crazy men and women fighting for toys, shoes and Christmas décor. Some people enjoy going out just to see the madness of all the shoppers; while others take it very seriously. Black Friday gives shoppers a day to put a big dent in their Christmas shopping or possibly finish it all up. The majority of stores offer unbelievable deals that accumulate hundreds of costumers. So this Thanksgiving, if you’re planning on getting in some Christmas shopping, eat plenty of turkey and get some rest because it will be a mad house out at the malls!
