Becoming a singing sensation is a dream of many modern youth. When it comes to NAHS freshman Natalie Graham, she plans to make her dream a reality.
Graham has been one with music for as long as she can remember. When asked if she would rather do anything in life than perform, she shot down the notion.
“I feel like I have this talent for a reason and that I was made to perform,” Graham said. “Nothing in the world could compare to my relationship with music.”

What sets Graham apart from fellow dreamers is that she actually strives to make the dream come true. Rather than remain an unknown singer from an unknown town, she utilizes social media to make her name known and has traveled far and wide to compete and audition for talent shows.
“In October of 2011 I went to St. Louis to try out for America’s Got Talent,” Graham said.

Auditioning for a show with caliber such as America’s Got Talent would be enough to make any person tremble, but Graham is fearless when it comes to her performances. Graham has become accustomed to playing for large crowds.
“For my eighth grade graduation I played two original songs for about 1000 people,” Graham said. “It was a pretty cool experience.”
Graham’s natural ability with music and her courageous attitude in playing for a crowd are other qualities that set her apart from typical teenage musicians. It’s these qualities that could land her in a big city one day. Her audition with America’s Got Talent went well; the show asked to meet with her a second time. Graham will get further news on her audition in the coming weeks.

“If I won a show like [America’s Got Talent] I would definitely try my best to help the community and charities,” Graham said. “I’d definitely help out every one of my family members, and with what’s left I would go out and spend it on cute clothes. Typical teenage girl!”
Graham’s objective is life is to get her name out there. She wants nothing more than for people to revel in her music.
“My goal is to just get my music out there for the world to hear,” Graham said. “[I want] people to relate to my music and understand my lyrics. That would be such an accomplishment!”

Overall, a great topic. But as a reader, we felt it was very opinionated in the writer’s commentary. This is a feature article, so journalistically it should not reflect any opinions except those expressed in quotes.
