Everyone knows the famous singer Adele. She is mostly known for her powerful break-up songs heard by many teenagers today, but how did she rise to fame?
Adele Laurie Blue Atkins was born on May 5th 1988 in Tottenham, North London, England. Adele began singing at just the age of 4. Adele credits the Spice Girls for all her successes in the music industry. As Adele was growing up the Spice Girls provided good inspiration for her.
Before becoming a top billboard charts artist and Grammy winner Adele attended the BRIT school in Croydon among some of her classmates was the also famous singer Leona Lewis. Adele graduated from the BRIT school in 2006.
Just a year after graduating Adele’s song “Hometown Glory” which debuted in October 2007. Adele wrote that song at just the age of 16. Although before becoming a famous singer not only in UK but also in the U.S. Adele’s friend posted her music on MySpace where she was later discovered by a label.
Adele’s second single still well-known today “Chasing Pavements” which peaked at number two in UK and remained there for four weeks. Adele’s most recent album “21” will mark its one year anniversary on the charts.
“It’s been an amazing year. I’d like to thank my record company for letting me be the kind of artist I want to be,” Adele said. Although still recuperating from surgery Adele accepts her awards for best new artist and best female pop performance and she even gives a big “comeback” performance to reassure all her fans that she is recovering just fine.
Adele has overcome a lot of obstacles in her career so far. She quickly recovered from throat surgery in November however unfortunately before the surgery she had lost her voice while on air during a Paris radio show. After experiencing one of the scariest moments for a singer(potentially losing your voice) Adele pushed through all of that and belted out her soulful voice on the Grammy’s reassuring everyone she has fully recovered and is back to her powerful boisterous singing.
As Adele continues to rise in fame she is also reminded that she needs to take time to enjoy her own life outside of her musical career. After accomplishing so much at a young age, Adele has announced that she is taking a four to five year break from her singing career to focus on her relationships. Although there are many heart broken teenagers that hang on the lyrics of Adele’s inspirational songs she is sure to return in the spotlight again soon.
