“Cause you got to have friends.” This is a song sung by Bette Midler that sums it all up in one simple phrase.
Prom is one of the most magical nights of the year to many high school students. It is the one night a year that everyone can dress up and feel like a fairytale princess or prince. Senior Best Buddies club member Sheldon Crawhorn is one NAHS student who is really looking forward to prom.
“I am excited and really like to dance,” said Crawhorn.
Prom Project is a project that will be going on this year at the prom. It is a program where college students will escort NAHS students to prom.
“Prom is so fun you can dance and everyone looks so nice,” said Rainey.
Senior Virginia Bigelow is also looking forward to attending prom this year.
“I like prom. I like dancing and getting dressed up,” said Bigelow.
“We take eleventh and twelfth graders from our program. It is set up to be a typical prom experience as it can be for any kid,” said special education teacher Mrs. Jessie Spainhour.
The college student and their buddy will meet at the student’s house and take pictures before leaving. After that they will go to Prosser where both will get their hair done.
After they are all prettied up they will attend dinner at a restaurant of their choosing.
Finally, they will arrive at prom and dance the night away.
