A contest for the high schools all across the United States for a special prom performance by country stars Lady Antelbellum, kicked off March 16. High schools were directed to submit a short video documentary as to why they think their high school deserves to have the once in a lifetime performance. On March 20, Lady A released a video to their website via YouTube announcing the winning high school and sharing the video that made the final cut.
Many hearts were touched as viewers watched Silver Creek high school, a neighboring high school to what is left of Henryville high school, tell Lady Antebellum not why they wanted the private show, but why Henryville deserves every bit of the special prom night performance.
The three members of the country group shared the exciting news with all of their fans, also including that the students from SCHS that helped produce the winning video will be invited to attend the concert as well. Many people in local schools and communities are touched by the love and support showed by those students at Silver Creek.
“I think it was so nice of Silver Creek to make their video for Henryville, especially because it was for their prom not their own prom at Silver Creek,” senior Heidi Reutebuch said.
However, Lady Antebellum stated that due to a tour conflict, they will have a special concert held in Louisville on May 16th for all of the students.
