Tattoos used to be seen as unprofessional and something only guys in biker gangs would have. However, the stigma has essentially evaporated as more and more teens get tattooed.

I am always on the go and I feel like I’m constantly in a hurry so my tattoo reminds me to live in the moment and “be still”.

— Senior Jessica Renner

Would you get another one?

“I would get another one but I feel like I want to wait a little bit.”

When and where did you go to get your tattoo?

“I went to Imperial Tattoo in Louisville to get my tattoo in February.”

How well do you know your tattoo artist?

“I met my artist the day I got it.”

Did you always know that you wanted to get a tattoo?

“I thought about getting one for about a year or so but I didn’t know exactly what, I definitely wanted something that was meaningful and small.”

What advice would you give someone who wants to get a tattoo?

“Start small, you can always add more. Don’t get one just to get it, plan it, take care of it after you get it, get it somewhere you can cover up.”
