With a score of 28-0, the Bulldogs reigned victorious. They surely claimed their territory, and showed that the Dogs are not to be messed with.
For many students, this was the most anticipated and hyped up game of the season. Almost all of the students showed their spirit, whether it be through cheers or by painting their faces, everyone was decked out. The seniors especially made sure that they led the student body by showing tons of school spirit and red pride.
Senior Tia O’Neil felt that being a senior in the student section had its negative points and benefits.
“It was fun, but at times it was a little stressful, mainly because the freshmen didn’t cheer,” O’Neil said. “I think we should have pep rallies before to help get everyone pumped up.”
Even though the freshmen were a little quiet, that didn’t stop the upperclassmen from making themselves heard. Throughout the whole game, seniors led the student body in countless cheers, which helped lead the team to victory, promising a great season for the Dogs.
The win also gave the Bulldog fans some hype, pumping them up for future games. Not only were the students involved in cheering, but O’Neil and several other senior girls helped lead the parents in several cheers, proving that this year’s fan base is going to be stronger than ever.
“I felt like everyone was excited because it was the Providence game and there’s a lot of trash talk, plus it was the first game of the year,” O’Neil said.
