Scholarships
Scholarship lists are now out. Mrs. McGuirk is in the senior loft everyday to pass out that scholarship list. Scholarship lists are updated weekly
College fair
The college fair is right here at New Albany High School on Wednesday, September 25th from 6 to 8 pm in the Gym. It’s open to all ages.
“The earlier you start the better.”
Advice for going to the college fair
“The best way to check out those schools is to attend the college fair.”
“It can be overwhelming, just think in advance, what schools am I interested in, what schools would I like to have more information on, and make sure to hit those tables. If you don’t know what schools you’re interested in just kind of walk around and maybe talk to some of the representatives.”
What do colleges look at?
– Four year record
– GPA
– Test Scores
– Class Rank
– Final transcript
ACT & SAT
“If there is one piece of advice I could give to seniors right now is to make sure you get signed up for the SAT and ACT, and I recommend taking both of them.”
Seniors need to take the act and sat by Christmas break, juniors should try and take it more of the second semester.
Advice for seniors
– Take the ACT/SAT
– See Mrs. McGuirk once a week
– Get focused
– Watch deadlines
– Don’t procrasinate
– Do as much as you can this semester
