Sometimes, riding the struggle bus isn’t enough. Every once and a while have to take a hold of the steering wheel and drive that bus until it’s your time to get off. Sometimes life is hard, man… I’m here to show you that you’re not alone.

May 1, 2014. 7:06 A.M – My hair does not understand that I have to go places; I have to be around other people. The bird’s nest look is not in style yet and I don’t think I’ll be pulling it off anytime soon so I need to tame this mane. #Thestruggleisreal
May 1, 2014. 7:23 A.M – One blow dryer, five products, and at least half a can of hairspray later and I guess I can leave the house. I’m going to be late to school… thaaaaat’s about right. #Thestruggleisreal
May 2, 2014. 8:37 A.M – It’s second period. I get to class on time (barely) and make my way to my seat. Then it hits me: I don’t have my binder. This means no homework, no DMR sheet, no notes, and no calculator. At least it’s Friday? UUUGHHH!!! #Thestruggleisreal
May 3, 2014 2:00 P.M – It’s SAT day and I just got out of testing. This morning was a true struggle. I woke up late only to realize that I did not have a scientific calculator, I couldn’t find my admittance slip, and my car wouldn’t start. This left me with no time to eat breakfast and barely enough time to apply just enough make-up so I wouldn’t scare the proctor.
At 7:15 I leave my house with just enough time to stop at Meijer to purchase a scientific calculator, a granola bar, and a bottle of water, which solved three out of five of my problems. I make my way to the counter only to notice that I don’t have my debit card. So I leave my purchases at the counter, sprint to my mom’s van to retrieve the $28.67 that I need, sprint back into Meijer to find that they have RETURNED MY ITEMS TO THE SHELF. I then have to run around Meijer looking like a mad woman (my aesthetic was not far off, to be honest) trying to find what I need again. #Thestruggleispainfullyreal
May 5, 2014 7:43 A.M- I woke up late today. Hopefully my leftover make up from last night will do a good job at covering the bags under my eyes. This happens to every girl, right? #thestruggleisreal
May 5, 2014 7:58 A.M – I have just been struck with two horrible realities:
- I didn’t hang my parking permit. Does anyone actually check for those? I hope not…
- I left my apple juice in the car along with my headphones.
Why do bad things happen to good people? #Thestruggleisreal
May 6, 2014 7:28 A.M – I woke up today to realize that I have single-handedly turned myself into an orange zebra. Dear future self: when thinking about self-tanning, DON’T. I can’t be the only one this has ever happened to. #Thestruggleis… orange?
May 6, 2014 5:00 P.M. – I have looked high and low for my car keys. AAA is coming to make me a new key, which is going to cost $60 out of pocket. I have to be in a meeting in 30 minutes, it’s 86 degrees right now, and I’ve been sitting in the sun since 2:45. Struggle doesn’t even begin to describe my life at this point. #Thestruggleisexpensive
May 7, 2014 6:30 A.M. – GUESS WHO JUST FOUND HER CAR KEYS? The answer would be me. The one place I didn’t even think to check. Is this even real life? #Thestruggleisoutrageous
After all of this struggle I think it’s my time to hop off the struggle bus. It is the end of the school year, I’m wearing sweatpants, and I have coffee; life isn’t so bad. I can see my stop ahead! It’s been nice knowing everyone.
