Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff are three Atlanta rappers that make up the collective rap group Migos. 3 Way, their first album, was released in 2016 and showed a new side of trap music that incorporated three very distinct voices all playing off of each other’s strengths. This was enough to get people excited for their next big release, and on January 27, 2017, the three rappers released their sophomore album, Culture.
Our review on this album is good. Songs such as “Bad and Boujee”, “T-Shirt”, “Call Casting”, and “What The Price” were all released as singles. These songs, especially “Bad and Boujee”, made the album popular before it was fully released. When the full album released songs such as “Get Right Witcha” continued to make people listen to the group as they used heavy trap beats mixed with light background sounds and lots of energy.
This album is built off of all hype up bangers with little slow moments. Although this album did not bring anything new to the trap genre, it gave us more of what we wanted and did it in a good way. We give this album a 4 out of 5, it is available on iTunes and Spotify.
