The game of the week last week was Bulldogs against the Providence Pioneers. Bulldog basketball games are always fun, but this rival games was something special.
With Romeo Langford making his return to the floor, after he suffered a dislocated pinky two weeks ago in practice, the crowd was already amped. The Pioneers came ready to battle, but the defending state champions stood tall with a 55-40 win.
The first quarter was a dagger to the Pioneers as the Bulldogs led 15-9 and weren’t letting up. This was evident because Providence didn’t score a single point in the second quarter and the Bulldogs led 26-9 at the end of the first half.
The Pioneers came out sprinting in the second half. By the end of the third they had cut the lead to just 11, but the Bulldogs were back to dropping buckets in the fourth to come out with the win. Sean East led the Bulldogs with 18 points followed by Romeo with 14.
