How far we’ve come

You spend four years getting to know strangers who you recognize now as your teammates and sisters. You bond with them and not only endure pain with them, but also experience some of the best times together and some of the worst. But most of all, a team sticks together till the end and a relationship that has been formed by teammates is not one that can be easily torn apart.
“I’m going to miss every senior,” junior member of the Bulldolls Bayasa B said. “I will miss them as they are, not just as the dancers they were.”
NAHS is made up of numerous extra curricular activities, where students are given the chance to bond with each another. Although NA seniors are looking forward to moving on and what’s new in the future, they cant quite let go of some of their best memories, which can be found on the court, field, or track with their teammates.
“I’m going to miss everything about this team,” senior captain of the soccer team Miranda Duffy said.” “I won’t just miss playing with these girls, but hanging out with them also.”
No matter what, seniors are going to continue on with the next chapter in their lives. Although they will make many new memories in college or wherever they will go next, they wouldn’t be able to erase some of the best memories they had with their team even if they tried and losing all contact with their team is not an option.
“I’m going to come home from college to visit them when I can,” senior Bulldoll Ally Howard said. “I will be able to see them dance next year, but when I can’t, in the mean time we have texting and the internet.”
A team who wins together loses together, meaning everybody mourns the loss of a senior. Teams find themselves struggling to recover from such great losses and find it hard to find a replacement to fill in their shoes.
“We were all really close on the team and I was able to grow up playing soccer with the captains on the team, which made our relationship even closer,” junior member Morgan Miller said.
Whether it’s your last goodbye or just for closure, its never easy leaving your teammates. Some teams prepare for the end of the year differently, but in this case, NAHS dance team and soccer team ended the year with a formal banquet.
“At our banquet at the end of the year we watched a slide show to look back on our season,” Miller said. “It was a nice way to see all the memories we had made together and that it was time to go.”
